Bathroom reno done- THANK GOODNESS! When we first moved in this bathroom has
a green counter tops, wood toilet seat, builders tile and lots of grime.
We were on a serious budget for this bathroom project. So we took our time
and purchased a new mirror from Walmart, a beige counter top and new toilet from
Home Depot, stainless steal handles, towel bar and shower rode from Canadian
Tire. The most fun I had on this project was adding the washable wallpaper on
one wall. The wallpaper’s pretty damask print adds a bit of vintage to a new
updated bathroom. For the amount of money we were able to put in it, we love it!

Carpet Hate
It’s not that we hate carpet; we just really hated the carpet our house came with!
We didn’t move into our home for a good month after getting the keys since we planned for some big renos. Our first project was clear- to scrap the carpet from the bedrooms and living room. It had looked like the carpet has been put in a few years ago as it was still pretty new, fluffy, clean and bright pucky pink.
We started by first pulling off all the cheap, single panel baseboards from each room. We then put on our work gloves and began in the far corner of our living room, first pulling up all of the pink carpet and rolling it right out of the house. Once the each room was carpet free we pulled up the under padding and tried out best to yank out all the carpet staples (and when it was too hard, we just hammered them into the sub floor).
Here is a picture of my mom helping out- the Daley renos would not have been possible without the help our amazing parents. We were so lucky with all the help we received during it.

Hearts all around
One of my bestfriends from highschool got married last weekend in a beautiful winter wedding. I was honoured to be apart of her Bridal Party. I also offered to create a Mr. & Mrs. banner to hang infront of the head table on their special day.
Instead of . we used hearts for Mr. and Mrs.
I love the way it turned out and it matched her wedding style/decor perfectly.
What a lovely day!

What we bought!
Our sweet little bungalow wasn't so sweet when we first bought it. Here you
can see how dated our 2 bedroom, 1 bath looked just a year and a half ago-
livable yes, cozy and loveable no.
The kitchen was a small, dark room with a very old fridge. It had great
kitchen cabinets but the green counter tops just had to go!
The living room sold me the house! The house is only 900 sq feet, but the amount of light that came in through the windows made me smile immediately.
The Bedrooms were both in rough shape. The left photo is the master and the
photo to the right is the tiny second room with a doggy door! This also made us
smile as we have the cutest little Cockapoo named Rookie, that we love so much.
We knew he could use this door a lot- and he does!
The bathroom....ewww, but a great size with a nice big vanity.
After seeing 18 homes in one month, we knew this house was for us. We were told by our realtor that it was a "Power of Sale" so we bid super low and after a bit of negotiating the bank agreed to take our offer. Soon after the papers were signed the BIG RENO PLANNING of 2011 began!

Our First Home
January 14th 2011, we got the keys to our very first home. I was Susie Demjen than and growing up I had a life-goal that by the time I was 25yrs old I would purchase my own home. Not only did my dream come to life, but lucky me got to do it with my very bestfriend (boyfriend at the time) Brad Daley.
We purchased a well-built 50’s bungalow in a very small place in Jackson’s Point, Ontario that curves along beautiful Lake Simcoe. This well-built home needed a lot of attention and love on the inside- as it was extremely dated. Over the last 1 ½ we’ve been working hard to make this house our own, and with one DIY project at a time, it’s becoming homeDaley.
